Hands-On Training in Biodynamic Agriculture
Jim Barausky has been an instructor in biodynamic agriculture at Naropa University and Warren Wilson College and is regional coordinator for Biodynamic Training and Apprenticeship Program. Jim has over 40 years of experience as a biodynamic grower in the garden, on small farms, and in commercial operations in CO, CA, NM, NC, PA and Germany. Jim also has served as president of the Biodynamic Society.
General Internship/Apprenticeship Information:
Interns work 50 hours per week, and participate in all aspects of the operation.
Internship runs entire season March-November
Minimum Length Stay: 1 season
Number of Positions: 2-3
Housing: Private room with shared kitchen/bath, utilities and internet included
Work/Experience Desired:
Some gardening/farming experience is desired. Stipend of $200- $400 per month based on previous experience and demonstration of skill. Interns must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude. We require a firm commitment for the season.
Education Opportunity:
This is a comprehensive intern program with full time hands-on work and regular coursework in Biodynamic agriculture. Training includes formal classes and study of Rudolf Steiner’s agriculture course and other related texts. This position is for interns seriously interested in developing their own project in the future. Apprentices will be eligbile for a certification through the Biodynamic Training Apprenticeship Program.
